QuirkScience is an independent animated science channel. This page covers quirkscience.com. The site sets no cookies and has no accounts, forms, ads or trackers, and nothing to sign up for. We don't sell or rent anyone's information.
What our web host sees
Cloudflare hosts this site. Like any web host, it receives your IP address and basic browser information so it can deliver pages and keep the site secure. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Visit counts
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies or local storage and doesn't fingerprint visitors. We only see totals, such as how many times a page was opened.
Your pause setting
If you press Pause animation, your browser saves that choice on your device so the page stays still next time. It never reaches us. Press Play animation to remove it, or clear this site's data in your browser.
Videos
Our films live on YouTube, and this site uses YouTube API Services to show them. Nothing from YouTube loads until you press play: the pictures on the play buttons are copies we keep here. When you press play, the player loads in YouTube's privacy enhanced mode. From then on YouTube (Google) receives your IP address and browser information, may store or read information on your device, and may show ads in the player; YouTube says ads in this mode are not personalized. The Google Privacy Policy covers what YouTube does, and watching means using YouTube under the YouTube Terms of Service.
If you email hello@quirkscience.com, your message passes through Cloudflare's email routing and is kept in an email account we hold with Google. We use your address and message only to reply and to keep track of the conversation. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't share or sell your address. We keep messages only as long as the conversation needs them, and we delete yours sooner if you ask.
Do Not Track
This site doesn't track you over time or across other websites, so it works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. No advertising or tracking companies load on this site. After you press play on a video, YouTube may collect information as described above.
Children
QuirkScience is made for a general audience, not for children under 13, and the site has nothing to sign up for. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or teacher to write to us for you. If we learn that a child under 13 has emailed us, we reply once if needed, then delete the message and the address and don't write again. A parent can ask us to delete anything their child sent.
Changes
If we change how this site handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
